Christopher Nolan (del quale si ricorda l'esordio con il curioso quanto tortuoso poliziesco sulla relatività della memoria, MEMENTO) rispecchia più che bene la sua storia in quell'ambiente dalle dimensioni assolute; dove i confini incerti fra l'acqua e la terra ricordano quelli altrettanto opinabili fra verità ed ipocrisia al quale si ispirano i personaggi del film.

Così, il regista non molla di un attimo le sue fisionomie: facile, mi direte, quando uno se le ritrova cariche di straordinaria fatica esistenziale come quella del solito, immenso Al Pacino.
